Gargoyle Towers are powered by a blast furnace and deal a lot of damage against Frosters. They are also very effective against wooden Mortars.
Functions:
The Gargoyle Tower is the first high-health tower in the game. Once
unlocked, its function is to waste an attacker’s time with its beefy health of
4,950 at Level 1, while concurrently damaging enemies within its 2.7 range with
49 fire damage. Although it is robust enough to stall enemies from advancing, it
can be easily taken down by the opposing power of ice. Also weak against blunt
damage by Paladins, the Gargoyle Tower goes down easily against Frosters and Blizzard.
TIPS
Because of its better statistics than the preceding Frost Tower, the
Gargoyle Tower is exploited for its high health and far bigger damage. Players erect
several of these lava-spitters alongside a path (with Spikes in between) to double
the damage to enemy units. Some common installations are at a corner of a bend,
at every other tile, and around the Castle Gate. There is no particular path
design that makes these towers more useful than they already are by default.
With the noted powers of the Gargoyle Tower, it is best to build three
to four of them at Level 2 until the formidable Firebolt Tower is unlocked. This
strategy increases your overall defense power, especially if you distract
enemies with bombs by placing Bomb Towers close by. And if the purpose is to kill
the enemy’s time, well-upgraded Blockades are a great complementary; place them
after each Gargoyle Tower so the defenders can remain protected while the intruders
are occupied with the lava-spitter.
Because of the short attack range of Gargoyle Towers, they are weak
against long-rangers like Archers, Arblasters, Frosters, Pyromancers, and
Cannons. They just stand there ready to collapse. But you can make them stand
longer by assigning Mortars, Arblasters, and Pyromancers in the defense wave.
To easily penetrate a defense composed mainly of Gargoyle Towers, conscribe
Arblasters, Cannons, and Paladins to the attacking unit. Spawn Cannons and
Arblasters alternately so the latter will be able to protect the vulnerable Cannons.
Equip the Heal spell to keep Paladins and the other units longer, and the
Blizzard spell to take down some Gargoyle Towers in one go.
