Firebolt Towers can only be damaged using ranged attacks. They shoot burning bolts that are most effective against Cannons.
Functions:
The Firebolt Tower is the ultimate long-range defense structure that
cannot be taken down easily. Counterpart to the hyper-shooting Arblasters in
the unit department, Firebolt Towers are undoubtedly unnerving because they can
only be damaged by long-range units and a few spells. One tower at Level 1 boosts
a kingdom’s defense with additional 4,930 health, and inflicts combined piercing
and fire damage to enemies. Expensive though it is, the Firebolt Tower is definitely
a reliable tower for protecting a kingdom’s treasures.
TIPS
Defending a kingdom becomes more interesting once the Firebolt Tower is
unlocked, primarily because it allows placement flexibility without
compromising its defense capability. Firebolt Towers can be erected anywhere,
but their damage doubles if well-upgraded Blockades are placed in front of them.
This is a common strategy that aims to both kill the enemies and waste the
player’s time.
A paperclip path formation permits the most formidable placement for a
Firebolt Tower: at the corner at the end of such path, opposite the curve. This
location allows the tower to shoot its fiery bolts at every unit passing by
without receiving any damage except from Cannons, Pyromancers, and Arblasters.
But even with these long-range units in the attack wave, it is still difficult
to take down a Firebolt Tower so placed, especially with long-rangers in the defending
side.
Firebolt Towers are even more powerful in numbers; a group of four
strong placed around a bend one tile away from each other (and with a Blockade
placed before each) can be a really terrifying situation to overcome for any
king without the right combination of spells. To leverage on the fast attack
rate of these towers, place Gargoyle Towers or Snake Towers within its firing
range.
Fire and blunt are the foibles of Firebolt Towers, so any king who
wants to take them on must equip the Firestorm and Sonic Blast spells. The Heal
spell is also essential to remain alive even when under fire.
To destroy these
towers faster, recruit Cannons, Pyromancers, and Arblasters. But the fact that
any king protecting his treasures using groups of Firebolt Towers would likely
assign Pyromancers, Arblasters, and Mortars in his defense wave, the said
combination could be futile.
It is tricky to get three crowns when attacking a kingdom with a
defense backbone of Firebolt Towers. When in a bind, equip the spells that can
increase your chance of success: Toxic Cloud, Heal, Firestorm, Sonic Blast. And
since the enemy will likely complement his or her Firebolt Towers with
long-range defenders and high-health towers, use the Paladin-Cannon-Arblaster combo.
How do you use Firebolt Towers to stop enemies from getting to your
Castle Gate? What defender combinations do you employ to complement them? Don’t
hesitate to share your tactics, whether to help others or bluff them!
