Functions:

The Castle Guard is where you billet all your strongest troops, ready to attack intruders in waves. Upgrading this structure by one level gives a new wave of defenders and reduces the time between waves.

A Level 1 Castle Guard gives one wave with four morale points, which can be used to assign defenders for the same morale value; that is, 4 Knights or 2 Archers or 1 Paladin and 1 Knight, etc. At this level of the structure, the distance between waves is 75 seconds.

TIPS

Troops stationed at the Castle Guard provide assistance to towers and traps in taking down invaders. It is essential to be meticulous with assigning troops for every wave to have the best defense. Hence, players must test their own defense in order to know when waves arrive, what troops are in each wave, and how the combinations can stop enemies from advancing.

Here are some notable tactics:

  • Players employing the paperclip path design assign long-range Frosters and Pyromancers in addition to close-range Knights and Paladins in the First Wave in order to slow down enemies. This is a common tactic to burn the enemy's time, and it is considerably efficient.
  • Players assign more robust Paladins in combination with a Froster and an Arblaster in other waves in order to damage enemies faster. This can be an effective strategy if the attacker does not have Firestorm and Toxic Cloud in his magic arsenal.
  • Players using elongated paths lined with strong Blockades deploy Arblasters in waves in order to take down enemies from a distance. This can be effective if the enemy does not have Arblasters and Mortars or Swordrain.

There are many strategies in the game, so it is important to be versatile. Adapt a strategy that takes advantage of the enemy's weaknesses, whether in the towers present or in the defenders assigned. Discover more defensive and offensive strategies here.
